Lucy
Name: Lucy
KC Name: Unregistered
DOB: Unknown - 4th August 2017 (Forever in our Hearts)
Breed: Working Sheepdog
Colour: Tri Colour
Lucy passed away on 4th August 2017, we are all totally devastated but she is at peace now. One day someone will find a cure for cancer but for now it has taken another life. We were so lucky to be graced with Lucy and she will forever be in our hearts. We miss her so much and life on the farm just isn't the same without her.

Lucy was also a very unexpected part of our lives. At the time we got her we had three dogs, and were not looking for a fourth. Lucy is a retired Working Sheepdog and came from an old  farmer who was downsizing. He was looking to get rid of her and his other dog at the time my dad was doing some work for him. At first we weren't going to have her, then one day at that farm, she jumped into my dads van and that was it. The farmer had let her come to us, instead of just 'getting rid of her'. I am so glad she came to us, she is the most wonderful dog.
Her bright orange eyes look right into you and you just know that she cares. She lives for her balls, she has them everywhere, she can never get enough!

Lucy's age was unknown, we are her third home and the farmer didn't tell us her age when we got her. We reckon she would've been about 14 when she died, but can never be 100% sure.
Lucy is an outdoor dog and has the most incredible coat, it is totally waterproof. When I am giving her a bath, I have to bath her one way, then brush her coat backwards to watch underneath, it really is incredible.
She also has the most unusual colouring, her hair looks black, but if you brush it the other way she is totally tan colour. It is amazing! I have had people tell me she is "seal tri" and "dark sable tri" but she is just my old fashioned, tri colour, farm dog - and I love her for it.

She spends her days on our farm, walking around, sleeping and following my dad on his off road bike when he goes, she takes herself walks and hunts for mice. Lucy truly has a dogs life, she couldn't have ended up in a better place for herself :)
